bumps

Here's a fanart piece I did for a French comic book by two friends of mine, Guillaume Singelin and AurĂ©lien Ducoundray. It's the second installment (out of 3 I believe) in a series called The Grocery. Very action-packed stuff. Haven't read much of the first book, since it's in French, so had to force my wife into translating a few pages every once in a while before bed time, but it seems pretty goddam swell.
This is my take on the universe.

Here's an illustration I did recently for The New York Times for a series of articles they are doing on anxiety.

Here's a four page comic written by Alex Spiro that I drew for Nobrow 7: Brave New World.

Here's something I did for a Tarot card project organized by Light Grey Art Lab. I got the Knight of Wands.
It's up for pre-order here.

A birthday card for my Papa in law.

A t-shirt design I did together with my little brother when he was visiting me here in Berlin a few weeks ago. It contains most of what we spend our time and thoughts on.

more cops

I'm still working on the French book Burn Out. Have to finish it before November, so I reckon I gotta speed things up a tat.

Here's a drawing that I felt nudged me slightly in the right direction.

Here's what I'm fairly sure will be the final look of the book - or close to it.

Here's some more scatterbrained sketches I did whilst being on more dubious tangents.

Here's an Obsolete sketch I did for Michael Meier of ROTOPOL PRESS when I met him a few months back.
Really made me wanna do a medieval version of the whole comic.

Some seemingly random sketches.

A birthday card for a friend.

And in the end here; another one of my little brothers minecraft monuments. This time it's a hairy karate fella with double daggers, and inside him there's a whole house of armories, torture dungeons and toilets.

Also, I've recently decided to have more fun with drawing again. Not that I'm not having any fun now, it's just that most of the stuff I draw is either for some sorta project or rough sketches. I miss doing one page comics and illustrations in colors, just for the sake of doing them alone.
I recently saw on some blog or tumblr that some people have a so called 'fanart friday'. Besides the fact that it sounds a little too pep for me, and that I for some reason hate the word fanart, it's quite a decent idea. So I made a huge list of stuff I that want to make little tributes for, everything from films, comics, games, and so on. Haven't chosen which week day to do it in yet, maybe Monday.

yellow zine

I'm going to the MoCCA fest in a weeks time. Wanted to bring something small and personal with me, and seeing I never made a zine before, well, I tried my luck at that.
It's around 28 pages long, features different little sections of drawings, all done in black paint, and has a horribly yellow cover.

On a side note, there's people I never thanked for featuring my work on their respective web-magazines. Sorry about that guys, here we go!
First of all, I recently did an interview for the new Italian art & fashion web-magazine DATE HUB.
Second, quite a little while back, the art-music-fashion-themed web-magazine FAN THE FIRE featured my work in a bunch of wordless spreads.
Both are worth checking out!

burn out - design

At the moment I'm working on a comic called Burn Out, written by Antoine Ozanam, and for the French publisher KSTR / Casterman. It will be about 90 pages long, and will revolve around a cop by the name of Ethan Karoshi, during a nasty heatwave in 1980 in Reno, Nevada. The writer explains the story in a boiled-down sentence similar to this one:
BURN OUT; a very dark one-shot. A descent into hell for a cop on the edge.
Here's a selection of the character designs and choices (or the lack thereof) of styles, that I've gone over so far.
