cavemen and complicated facial surgery + more shit

Haven't been very active here as of lately, or anywhere for that matter, except for working on that book, which should be done and wrapped up in a few months. I'll make a post with some pages from the book when the time is ripe.

Julia Rothman contacted me some time ago about making an illustration for a book being published by Chronicle Books in the fall of 2012, by the name of; The Where, The What and The How: 75 Artists Illustrate the Wondrous Mysteries of the Universe.
My mystery was: What caused the extinction of the Neanderthals?

Here's a two page comic I did together with the fabulous Julian Gough for Nobrow's Double issue, out about now I guess.

And here's a little something to fill up an otherwise pretty thin blog post, a collection of sketches and designs from the making of Obsolete. The guys at Nobrow made me put this together for their website, but never really considered posting them here for some reason. Sorry about the small sizes, but it's all I got since my computer died a while back.

Your sketches are fantastic, and your handwriting is beautiful! I love the first neanderthal piece and the beardy studies. Can't wait to see more of your work!

I loved the Tom Cruise story! I have the same problem, only, I look like george clooney from the front; women get very disappointed when I turn around. Any suggestions?

What are the risks of facial feminization surgery?
Who does it for you? Is it like plastic surgery?

I am a guy and just want to look pretty and androgynous.
